Chinese poem illustration: 小雅 沔水/ Xiaoya – Mian River by Anonymous
Full video also available at Bilibili:
By a poet who lived along Mian river(沔水), which is so called Han river(汉水) today, this poem showed its sophisticated writing techniques as well as his tortuous worries. It sounds like a poem of mid-to-late West Zhou period when the states were troubled with nature disasters and wars.
Arguments on 沔水 and 鴥 are raised against traditional explanations by Han scholars(汉儒). This poem also revealed some details of hunting with eagles(飞隼, falcon) in Zhou dynasty. This video is also my personal celebration to my releasing from two weeks quarantine in Zhuhai cityin in June 30,2020!
