Love poems, became a very popular type of poem since Song dynasty. Before, only very few poems could be considered as love poems with doult. In my personal opinion, It is Li Shangyin who cultivate the root of love poem in late Tang period.
This poem, written around 17 years old, looks quite mature on its writing technique already. It shines till today with its deep love and creativity, as well as being the first generation love poems, just pure love dedicate to a girl without metaphor neither implication to other situations.

相见时难别亦难，
东风无力百花残。
春蚕到死丝方尽，
蜡炬成灰泪始干。
晓镜但愁云鬓改，
夜吟应觉月光寒。
蓬山此去无多路，
青鸟殷勤为探看。
