A self wrap up of his days and nights in Yangzhou, between the age of 30 to 40, best time of life. Yangzhou city could be the most prosperous port city of the time , a Shanghai in Tang dynasty.
This poem could be interpreted in many ways, yet the deep sorrow for the dissolute past years is obvious. By digging to Du Mu ‘s family and his life, this poem reflects a lot more things beyond deep sorrow.
Reading in dialect of Shaanxi (秦腔) is at the last part of this video. It is supposed to be the direct descendant of Changan accent, the official tone of Tang , it is the accent of Du Mu’s hometown as well.

楚腰纤细掌中轻。
